On the 30th of June 2004 all the Cluster Schools based in Bridport competed in an annual event, the Cluster Sports. Six schools competed, Loders, Powerstock, Thorners, St.Catherine's, Burton Bradstock and Symondsbury.
The sprints were the first event of the day so the year 3 boys went up to the start to get ready. William C for Lightning Loders set off with a great start and finished second. After Levi .G. set off again we had a good start but unluckily he came 5th. In the year 5 boys Angus .C. came a good fourth and Alex W came 5th. We had some perfect places like Katrina M who came 1st and Jasmine W who also came a nice 3rd. The last two sprints we had Hattie and Gemma M for Loders and they gave us a lovely finish for the sprints. By Angus and Alex W

One of the events was the 600 metres. It was the first year it had been put in as a race, so nobody knew what would happen. It was quite similar to the cluster cross country. Katrina and Jasmine ran for the girls and Alex and Angus ran for the boys. We would have had only one runner but Angus stepped in for Laurence due to injuries. In the boys race Alex came 8th out of 12 and Angus came 10th. All the other boys competing were twice the size of Alex and Angus, the distance was a long way so they did really well! |

Next it was the girls

Laura B A from Thorners was the champ of the cross country so she was the obvious winner but what we didn't know was Katrina would come 2nd and Jasmine 4th. It was very successful day as Loders came 5th overall but put on their best performance yet! By Katrina and Laurence |
The Relays
| One of the events
were the relays. The first race was the year 3’s who came 2nd then the
year 4’s who came 4th, then the year 5 Boys and Alex.L. They came 3rd and
then the year 5 girls came 1st. The year 6 boys came 6th but there were 2
year 5’s and 1 year 6 had an injury. The year 6 girls came 3rd. The teams are as followed: |

On Wednesday the 30th of June most of the jackdaws and some of the swallows went down to Symondsbury sports field to compete in the cluster sports.

In the arch and tunnel ball we were not doing well, we were losing by 2 legs but we caught up brilliantly and finished with a smashing first place. |
In the corner spry we kept our reputation and blew away the other teams and won with a cracking first place.
Also in the obstacle relay we were losing quite dramatically but caught up when the other teams both tripped up over a hoop and Selena saved the day by rushing really quickly through the hoops and bringing us up to 2nd and then with a joint effort we came up to first and amazingly won.
