The Government has extended the provision of the Primary PE and Sport Premium until 2020. This means that Primary Schools will continue to get additional funding of £8000 + £5 per pupil, for the next 4 years. This money is ring-fenced and is to be spent on improving physical education and sport.
For the academic year 2016/17, Loders Primary Academy is planning on using the money in the following ways:
To provide alternative sports across the whole school through the employment of outside companies – Sailing, Archery, Dance and a range of other activities, with qualified instructors.
- Continued CPD for staff.
- Buying into existing local sports networks (Inc. Dorset School sports)
- Pay for and subsidise transport to ensure children can continue to attend sporting events safely, on time and consistently.
