The Cluster Cross-Country Run

at Symondsbury on 11th October

On Saturday the 11th of October the Cluster schools took part in a cross country run at Colmers  Hill. We arrived at Symondsbury School at 10:00 a.m., thirty girls and thirty boys for two races. We all had butterflies in our tummies even though it was a lovely day. The sky was blue and the leaves were golden and crisp. Then Richard Tuck took us all to the start and did some warm ups with us.

At 10:30 am the girls went to their positions. Then the starter blew the hooter and we were off. We ran over first a little hill then across a valley, up a steep dusty path, down a path and lastly through a field. We could all see our Mums and Dads cheering us on as we raced to the finish line.
Our six best places were Katrina (2nd), Jasmine (4th), Harriet (7th), Emily (14th), Selena and Katie.

After the girl’s race was over it was the boy’s turn.
Their six best places were Alex W (9th), Thomas (13th), Alex L (19th), Oliver B, Oliver H and Ashley.

The girls did exceptionally well because they won the team trophy for the girl’s race. The boys also did really well because they had some young runners who achieved good places.

Everyone who took part really enjoyed it whether they won or lost. Next year you had better watch out for the Loders kids as Loders is going to the top!
