Referendum Vote

Polling station visit

Over the last few weeks we have been discussing and debating the EU referendum. Today we visited the Loders polling station and saw how adults over the age of 18 get to cast their votes. Tomorrow we will see what happens in the referendum and discuss our thoughts and feelings on the outcome.

Summer Fair

On Saturday, much fun was had at the school’s May fair. The May Queen and May King were crowned by Sarah Sutton. They delivered wonderful speeches about their time at Loders school. The Wrens class performed a fabulous Mexican hat dance and the Woodpeckers and Jackdaws class danced around the Maypole. At least £1,000 was raised, a fabulous effort by all!

Sailing

On 9th June years 5 and 6 enjoyed a sailing session at the Andrew Simpson Sailing Centre in Weymouth. The Centre offers a range of courses,  including the Rod Shipley Sail for a Fiver youth scheme (in conjunction with the Chesil Trust).  Subsidised by the charity,  SFAF is a fantastic opportunity for children to experience sailing at a fraction of the usual cost at a modern well-equipped Centre with expert instructors.  Apart from that, it’s just good fun …
